The frist three letters of the license plate on my neighbor’s 1967 C10 is the same as Dallas/Ft. Worth’s airport code.
This is kinda unimportant but whatever I think it’s cool.

Or the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Detroit is DTW. DFW is the code for Dallas-Fort Worth.

Or David Foster Wallace.

I was going to comment on the code, but I see the other skygeeks have beat me to it

Yes, I am stupid. I should know that my mother lived in Detroit for five years.

Yes.

Yep, I made a mistake. Which is stupid because when I fly to Seattle, I typically fly through DTW, DFW, ORD, or MSP.

No worries. It helps that I’m an airport geek who lives in Texas.

I’ve been to DFW dozens of times. It’s a good airport, I just don’t like American Airlines.

I had three consecutive NJ plates that started with the following:
91 Integra - MSY (N’awlins)
99 Miata - LGA (LaGuardia)
98 ML320 - YVR (Vancouver — not sure ‘why’ all(?) Canadian airports start with ‘Y’)
While many letter combinations will translate to an airport somewhere, it was odd because I had flown to/from all of those....the first two many times. I anticipate EWR or JFK on my next car.

Huh. That’s interesting. I like it. But about that ML320? Did ya like?

Considering it was the first model year, the ML was solid for me. I bought it w/40k miles on the clock for a very low price, because based on dealer receipts the original owner spent a lot of time in a loaner car. All the bad bits (transmission) had been replaced and it was easy to do your own (frequent) brakes and a few other repairs. I sold it to a friend at 94k miles (against better judgement, but he got it for a song) and he put another 60k miles on it before it became a parts car. Ironically, I moved on to a first-gen V8 Touareg...which too this day has also been very good to me. (knock on wood, while laughing at Doug DeMuro.)

Lowkey want a V8 Touareg, as a parent at my school has one. Like, the engine sounds like it’s going to explode at any moment and it’s leaning to one corner. I haven’t even mentioned the 22s...

I have the air suspension, but so far all four corners are at the same ride height at all settings.

So like it doesn’t move, or it works perfectly fine?

Working fine....I meant that when I change from Sport to Reg to High, all four corners adjust to the same height as they are supposed to. 99k miles and counting.
